Research Assistant Position: Web Development for a TÜBİTAK Research Project

We are looking for an MSc student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a closely related discipline for developing a responsive research website with a searchable database and interactive data visualizations using modern web technologies, SQL, and Git. Essential Qualifications:

  • Good programming skills and understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of modern web development using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with at least one modern web application framework (frontend and/or backend).
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Ability to develop web applications that retrieve, display, and query data stored in a database.
  • Experience creating interactive data visualizations using JavaScript libraries (e.g., D3.js, Plotly, Chart.js, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with Git for version control.
  • Ability to write clear, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience developing web applications as part of coursework, research, internships, or personal projects.
  • Experience working with structured datasets.
  • Familiarity with responsive web design.

Expected Deliverables:

The developer will design and implement:

  • A responsive website presenting a TUBITAK research project and its outcomes.
  • A searchable database interface allowing users to query project data.
  • Interactive visualizations of research data.
  • Source code maintained in a Git repository.
  • Technical documentation describing the software and its deployment.

Personal Attributes:

  • Ability to work independently while communicating regularly with the research team.
  • Willingness to learn project-specific technologies when required.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing reliable software.


Weekly Working Hours: 10 hours

Monthly Scholarship Amount: 22,500 TL per month if not employed in a paid position; 6,000 TL per month if already employed in a paid position.
